Michelle (Olas) Alvarez was the women's tennis career leader in victories after graduating, finishing her career with a 35-19 overall mark. She was impressive during her first two seasons, going 26-5 playing primarily at No. 1 and No. 2. singles. During her freshman year, Michelle was selected as the MAC Rookie of the Year.

In her sophomore and junior years, Michelle led the FDU women's tennis to MAC Freedom Championships, the only two in program history. A First Team All-MAC Freedom choice in 2001 and 2002, Michelle was named the NJAIAW Woman of the Year from FDU in 2002. Also a standout in the classroom, she was named to the MAC All-Academic Team in each of her final three years.

Currently, Michelle is a Mathematics teacher at David Brearley Middle and High School in Kenilworth, N.J. She has been the peer tutoring advisor for the last 10 years and the Johns Hopkins program advisor for the past six years. In addition to her two degrees from FDU, she also earned a second Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership. In 2010, Michelle was named the Kenilworth Middle School Teacher of the Year. In addition to her teaching duties, she served as the JV Softball Coach at David Brearley from 2007-2010.

She has been married to Don Alvarez for the past 11 years, and is the proud mother two children: Madison (8) and Dylan (5).
