Under the direction of Ted Bruning, his first year on the sidelines as head coach with the FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team, the Devils posted a record of 10-4 and won the 1974 ECAC Championship title. The 1974 season was the first year that the ECAC hosted a Division III Metro Men's Lacrosse Championship and the Devils shared regional titles with Bowdoin College and SUNY Geneseo that season.
