Floyd Adams played on the men's basketball team from 1984-1988 and, over the course of those four seasons, inserted his name into several pages of the FDU record book. Adams had a tremendous senior season and earned the FDU-Madison Male Athlete of the Year award. During the 1987-88 season, Adams averaged 17.2 points and 10.5 rebounds to lead the Jersey Devils and was named Co-MVP. That year, Adams sunk 145 free throws, the ninth highest single-season total in school history. FDU's eighth all-time leading scorer with 1,342 points, Adams was an All-MAC Northern Division First Team selection. He is FDU-Madison's career field goal percentage leader at .561. Adams also owns two of the three highest single season field goal percentages, shooting at a .603 clip in 1987-88 and a .578 clip in 1985-86. Adams could shoot from the free throw line as well as from the floor. He ranks seventh on the career free throws made list with 270. Adams' skills also extended to rebounding. He pulled down 293 rebounds in 1987-88, the eighth most in a single season and his career total of 836 rebounds ranks seventh. Adams averaged 8.5 rebounds per game over his career, ninth-most.
