Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus Athletics

O'Connel was a four-year varsity letter winner in field hockey for FDU-Florham from 2013-2016. She started all 88 of her appearances for the Devils on the field and was a pivotal part of the defensive side of the games as the program's all-time leader in defensive saves (18) and defensive saves in a season (8). Offensively, she accumulated a total of 31 points that consisted of eight goals adn 15 assists.

Erin also earned a mountain of accolades during her playing career that included Synapse Sports Third Team All-American, NFHCA First and Second team All-Regional, MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year, ECAC Defensive Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-MAC Freedom, ECAC Mid-Atlantic All-Star Second Team, and Second Team All-MAC Freedom. She also led the Devils to a Freedom Conference Championship in 2014, an NCAA playoff win in 2014, two MAC Freedom Regular Season Championships and two ECAC Semifinals appearances. 

Pff the field, O'Connell was named to the academic All-MAC Team, MAC Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA Academic Squad.
