A four-year starter, Liebman ranks 14th all-time on the program’s scoring list with 1,123 career points. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player for the 1982-83 season, and Second Team MAC North Division Honors.
As a senior, he was named All-State by the New Jersey College Basketball Coaches Association. He led team in scoring with 16.0 ppg (368 points) for the 1981-82 season.
After his senior season, Liebman played in the New Jersey College All-Star Game, for the state’s top 20 collegiate players.
After leaving, he went on to star in the Pan American Games in Brazil, leading the United States to a silver medal finish while finishing as the high-scorer of the entire tournament, averaging 34 points per game.
He went on to play six seasons in the Jersey Shore Pro-Am League.
Leibman ran the New York City Marathon in 1996 and has walked it several times with handicapped participants. He also still plays basketball three days per week.
He is a part owner of the USBL’s Brooklyn King’s, a minor league professional basketball team. He serves as the team’s General Manager and also as an Assistant Coach.
Liebman started his coaching career with a season at the helm of nearby Bayley Ellard High School. He went on to take a job with the company of the father of one of his players, Computer Horizons. He has been with the company for 19 years and is now the Vice President of Sales.
Liebman is single and lives in New York City. He wishes to thank his family, close friends, and coaches for all their support throughout the years.
