John Chambers

John Chambers was an integral part of the Devils Offensive Line from 1993-1996. The 1993 FDU-Florham Offensive Rookie of the Year, Chambers started all four seasons for FDU. The Middle Atlantic Conference recognized his stellar performance as he was named First Team All-MAC in 1994, 1995 and 1996. The 1993 Devils set a school-record with eight victories, and qualified for the ECAC Bowl.
 
John served as the team captain during the 1996 season, and was selected to play in the 1996 North/South All-Star game. For his efforts on the field, John was named to the FDU Devils 40th Anniversary Team in 2013, which honored members of the football program who made a significant impact on the Devils Football program.
 
Currently, John works for the West Deptford Police Department in NJ. He has been a police officer for 18 years and holds the rank of Lieutenant, overseeing the daily operations of the Detective Division, K-9 Unit, and Special Operations Unit within the department. John credits his academic and athletic experience at FDU to his success as a police office and helping develop him into the person he is today.

John credits his mother Patricia as a major influence on him, due to her sacrifice that allowed him to attend FDU. He is married to his wife Devon with three children (Morgan – 11, Mason – 9 and Bryce – 5). John is very active in coaching youth sports, coaching and sitting on the board of the West Deptford Twp. Jr. Wrestling program. John has coached Little League for several years and now coach both of his daughters' travel softball team and sons travel Baseball team.
