The 2001 men’s lacrosse team most valuable player, Brett Lapides is second all-time in program history with 257 career points. Furthermore, his 137 goals rank sixth while his 129 assists are good for second all-time.
The 257 points he recorded trails just Jeff Eischen, who was inducted into the FDU-Florham Hall of Fame in 2003. His 137 goals trail four hall of fame members and his 129 assists are just behind Class of 2006 inductee Paul Stolzer.
During his four seasons at FDU, his team had an impressive 39-24 record, reaching the ECAC Championship game in 2000 and 2001. The 2001 team matched the school-record with 13 victories and won the ECAC Metro Championship.
Brett notched a pair of 40 goal seasons for the Devils, including 41 in 2000 when he also tallied 34 assists. The 75 points in the 2001 campaign put him fourth on the single-season list.
