Mager was named as both the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Coach of the Year and as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Boardwalk Region Coach of the Year in the spring of 2021. Mager led FDU-Florham women's lacrosse to its first undefeated regular season in program history and to its eighth MAC Tournament Championship in 2021. Under the guidance of Mager and led by IWLCA All-American
Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ) and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American
Kylee Garcia (Branchburg, NJ), the Devils defeated Delaware Valley (20-2), King's (22-6) and Stevens (15-14) in the postseason on their home field to capture the conference crown and storm into the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
FDU's potent offense also smashed the record for most goals in a single game in back-to-back contests when the Devils posted a 23-4 win over Wilkes on April 10, and then a 24-4 victory over Delaware Valley on April 14. In total, FDU broke five single game records and two single season records and saw seven student-athletes earn MAC Freedom All-Conference accolades in 2021.
Robertson highlighted the awards this fall for the FDU-Florham football team as he became the first football coach in program history to be named as the MAC Coach of the Year. FDU-Florham football registered one of its best seasons in program history as the Devils went 7-4 and won an ECAC Bowl Game for the first time. FDU earned wins over William Paterson (43-17), Misericordia (31-20), Widener (27-3), Lebanon Valley (33-27), Albright (42-35), Alvernia (34-14) and Saint Vincent (38-19) after the Devils were selected to finish last in the MAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
FDU was led by D3football.com All-American and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year
Kenny Hands (Runnemede, NJ), who tallied 64 total tackles and set a single season program record 13.5 sacks this fall. His 13.5 sacks, which not only ranked third in all of Division III football this season, broke Mike Gibson's record of 11.5 which was set back in 1994. Additionally, the Devils had six All-MAC selections, three ECAC All-Stars and three D3football.com All-Region honorees.
