Football Falls to Eastern on the Road

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham football team dropped its ninth contest of the season Saturday afternoon on the road as the Devils fell to MAC leader Eastern 28-7. 
 
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
  • Running back Ethan Yak finished with nine rush attempts for a net gain of 31 yards. 
  • Quarterback Matthew Yascko was 14-for-33 in completions, throwing for 108 yards. The junior QB scored FDU's lone touchdown on one of his 12 rush attempts. 
  • Terry Andrike Jr. recorded seven receptions for 35 total yards. 
  • Adrian Palacios led the FDU defense with nine solo tackles and seven assisted for16 total tackles. 
  • Matt Heineman followed Palacios with five solo and seven assisted for 12 tackles
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Eastern got on the board first in the opening quarter as a 5:26 drive ended with a 13-yard rush from Jeremiah Avrilien put the Eagles up 7-0 after a good PAT. 
  • FDU answered in the second quarter as the FDU offense began its attack down field at the Eastern 42-yard line. Back-to-back receptions from Andrike Jr. and Patrick LePoidevin set the Devils up at Eastern's five-yard line. A three-yard rush from Cyrus Martin followed by Yascko's five-yard rush into the endzone, and a good PAT from Ian Poole-Morgan, knotted the game at 7-7.
  • After neither team scored for the rest of the first half, the Eagles' offense took over the game beginning in the third quarter. Eastern's Brett Nabb found Avrilien in the FDU endzone to put the Eagles up 14-7 with 10:27 left in the quarter. 
  • With 4:57 remaining in the quarter, Nabb threw a 41-yard pass to Eddie Swinton to put the Eagles ahead 21-7. 
  • Then in the final 1:31 of regulation, Eastern tacked on one more TD to make it 28-7 and hand FDU the loss.
UP NEXT 
The Devils return home for their final game of 2025 on Saturday, Nov. 15 s FDU hosts Alvernia for Senior Day. Kick-off is slated for noon with Senior Day celebrations to be done pregame.
