NEWTOWN, Pa. – The FDU-Florham football program garnered seven selections for the 2025 MAC Football All-Conference teams, the conference office announced Wednesday morning.
Seniors
Patrick LePoidevin and
Matt Heineman both earned First Team offensive and defensive honors, respectively. Fellow seniors
Andrike Terry Jr. and
Brandyn Shepherd each landed on the Second Team offense while seniors
Ginika Ozurumba and
Gio White earned Second Team defense and sophomore
Mike Barzal was named Second Team special teams player.
LePoidevin, a Middlesex, N.J. native finished the year fourth in the MAC in catches with 38 in only nine games played for the Devils. His 38 catches led all MAC tight ends, averaging 32.44 receiving yards per game. LePoidevin recorded a season-high 10 catches and 74 receiving yards against Widener on Oct. 11 and scored his only touchdown of the season against Misericordia on Nov. 1.
On the defensive side, Heineman, a Staten Island, N.Y. native, was a First Team shoe-in as the senior led the MAC in sacks with 9.0, also good for 21
st in the nation. His 14.0 TFLs were good for the most in the MAC and his 67 total tackles was good for eighth overall. Heineman became FDU's all-time leader in career sacks with 27 after notching two in FDU's 52-3 win over Alvernia on Nov. 15. This is Heineman's second straight season on the MAC All-Conference team, and his first earning First Team honors.
Terry Jr., a Linden, N.J. native had a stellar year for the Devils offense. He tallied 53 catches for 607 yards and four touchdowns. On Sept. 20 against King's, the senior recorded a season-long 70-yard reception and game-high 127 receiving yards. His 53 receptions were good for fourth most in the MAC. He was also second in the conference in receptions per game with 5.3. This is the first time Terry Jr. was named to the MAC All-Conference team.
Offensive lineman
Brandyn Shepherd joined Terry Jr. on the All-MAC Second Team offense. Shepherd was the anchor of the FDU offense, playing every snap this season and allowing zero sacks on the year.
Ozurumba, a Union, N.J. native, was opponents' second worst nightmare behind Heineman as the fellow senior was second on the Devils in sacks (3.5) and tackles (58). His 10.0 TFLs and 38-opponent yards lost were also second to only Heineman. The linebacker was 14
th in the MAC in total tackles and sixth in sacks. This is the third time Ozurumba has garnered an all-conference nod.
White, a native of Glen Cove, N.Y., tallied 43 tackles on the season including one for a loss of three yards. He led the Devils defense with three interceptions and nine pass break ups which were good for fourth and fifth in the MAC, respectively. His 12 passes defended were also the top mark in the conference. This is White's first appearance in the All-MAC team.
Barzal, a Staten Island native, joins Ozrumba on the All-MAC Second Team as special teams. In four games played this season, Barzal tallied four total tackles, three solo and one assisted. He managed one punt return for 14 yards, a blocked punt and a score in FDU's 52-3 win over Alvernia on Nov. 15. This is Barzal's first-career appearance on the All-MAC team.
This is the fourth consecutive year FDU's football program has put up seven or more players on the all-conference teams.
