Football Welcomes Anthony Fantana and Kamar Jorden to Coaching Staff

MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham football program and head coach Anthony Van Curen are excited to announce two new additions to the team's coaching staff as Van Curen has hired Anthony Fontana and Kamar Jorden to help lead the Devils offense into a new age.

Fontana, a Howell, N.J. native comes to FDU having spent the previous two seasons at Delaware Valley University where he wore many different hats as he was the special teams coordinator, the recruiting coordinator, and the running backs coach. He led his running backs crew to a total of 1550 yards on 350 attempts including an All-MAC running back selection who finished with 979 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Fontana helped lead the Aggies to the be the top scoring offense in the MAC in 2025 as well as the number one total offensive team in the conference this past season.

Prior to his two seasons with the Aggies, Fontana spent three seasons at The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. Here Fontana served as the defensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2021 before being promoted to head coach prior to the 2022 season. While at The Peddie School, Fontana led his team to be the leading school in N.J. in passing yards per game for the 2022 season. He was an instrumental part in leading recruiting efforts off the field as he worked closely with the admissions office in planning and organizing tours, interviews and entering prospective students into The Peddie School database.

Fontana is a 2019 graduate of Delaware Valley University and holds a BS in secondary education with certifications in teaching social studies and teaching students with disabilities. He will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Devils.

Joining Fontana for the 2026 season is nine-year CFL wide receiver Kamar Jorden. Jorden comes to FDU after spending the 2025 season as the wide receivers coach at Albright College. While at Albright, Jorden helped lead the Lions to a 4-6 record, Albright's best record since going 8-3 in 2017. While leading the Lions receiving core, Jorden helped develop 1,000-yard receiver and All-MAC First Team selection Arthur Poindexter. Under Jorden's tutelage, Poindexter led the MAC in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns and was named a Second Team All-Region wide receiver. Along with Poindexter, Jorden led Albright's return specialists including All-MAC Honorable Mention Shayde Shultz. While under Jorden's leadership, Albright receivers totaled 148 receptions, 1,972 yards and 16 touchdowns, putting the 2025 core near the top of the Lions record books.

Before his time at Albright, the Landsdowne, Pa. native spent one season as the receivers coach at Unionville High School in Kennett Square, Pa. where he helped develop two All-League honorees. Prior to his coaching tenure, Jorden spent nine years in the Canadian Football League as a wide receiver for the Calgary Stampeders. As a member of the Stampeders, he was a two-time Grey Cup Champion and four-time conference champion. He set the franchise single-game record for receiving yards with 247 and was named a CFL West Division All-Star in both 2018 and 2021.

Jorden is a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green University, in Bowling Green, Ohio where he earned a BS in Liberal Arts and Sciences. In 2022, Jorden earned a Sports Leadership certification from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada. He will serve as FDU's wide receivers coach.

"We are excited to welcome Anthony and Kamar to our program," said Coach Van Curen. "They bring a great mix of energy, enthusiasm, and experience that will be tremendous assets to our program. They are proven developers, mentors, and leaders who will have an immediate impact on our student-athletes both on and off the field."

Fontana and Jorden look to help lead the Devils to a bounce back season in 2026.
