#10 (April 12, 2021) – "FDU Devils Announce New Track and Field Program Coming Soon"

Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus and its athletic department announce the addition of track and field teams, coming in the fall of 2022. This announcement comes after FDU recently completed construction on the brand new Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field and the track complex located near the Madison Avenue entrance of the Florham Campus. FDU named Kendall Luy as its first head coach in program history over the summer.

"Staying true to our mission, we are very excited to announce the addition of both men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field at the Florham Campus, increasing our sport offerings to 23 NCAA sports," said FDU's Division III Athletics Director Jenn Noon.

"It is a very exciting time at Fairleigh Dickinson University, especially within the athletic department," said President Christopher A. Capuano. "We are at the forefront of facilities upgrades with the beautiful new Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field, and Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli Ballpark, which is one of the most elite baseball complexes in all of Division III athletics. The future of Devils athletics is bright, and we look forward to continuing to expand opportunities and attract high-caliber student-athletes to pursue their dreams at FDU."

About Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field
Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field completed construction in October of 2020. This multipurpose track and field complex is the new home to the FDU Devils field hockey, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's lacrosse programs. The facility includes a full-synthetic turf field, eight-lane track, video scoreboard, and a 40-space parking lot. New locker room facilities, press box, and bleachers are in the plans for the future of Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field.

"We cannot thank the Hennessy family enough for their contributions to student success and allowing our student-athletes to compete at one of the top venues in the state of New Jersey," said Noon. "We are grateful for the commitment that President Capuano and the Board of Trustees have made to athletics at the Florham Campus."
