Five Softball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five FDU-Florham softball players were named CSC Academic All-District as Sydney Grifone, Jada Lambright, Giulia Olear, Riley Signor and Hailey Wodecki all earned the honor, the CSC Academic All-District Program announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams were selected by College Sports Communicators and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must play in 90% of their team's games or have started in at least 66% of the total amount of games played. Pitchers must have logged at least 35 innings or appeared in 17 games as a pitcher. All while maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or better. 
 
Grifone, a senior from Vernon, N.J. had a stellar season for the Devils in 2026. She was named the MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Year, All-MAC Freedom First Team, and NFCA All-Region IV Third Team. The As a Quest: Psychology major, she was fifth in the MAC Freedom in ERA at 2.44 and was third in opponent batting average at .224. Grifone's 106 and 1/3 innings pitched were good for fourth and her 101 strikeouts were also the top mark in the conference. She was named MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week twice.
 
Signor and Lambright joined Grifone as First Team selections after major offensive seasons from the backstop and first baseman. Signor, a junior from Media, Pa., led the Devils in home runs with four and was tied with Abigail Rodriguez for the team lead in triples with three. As a Fine Arts and Secondary Education major, Signor hit .330 with a .944 OPS and 22 RBI. Defensively, she tied her own season-high in runners caught stealing from 2024 with seven on the year.
 
Lambright, a senior from Clifton Park, N.Y., led the Devils in hits with 51 for a .429 average and posted a 1.075 OPS. The Education major added 31 RBI and tallied 72 total bases on the year aided by her single season record of 16 doubles. She now owns the program record for all-time career doubles with 48. She boasts a 3.99 GPA and will be considered for Academic All-America.
 
Olear, a junior from Cranford, N.J. had a fine season for the Devils. The Film and Animation major started 37 games for FDU in 2026 and batted .266 with 29 hits including three doubles and one home run and 11 RBI. Olear drew 10 walks on the season and was 7-for-8 in stolen base attempts on the season. At second base she finished with a .963 fielding percentage. 
 
Wodecki a sophomore from Southampton, Mass. rounds out FDU's CSC Academic All-District Selections as she played in all 38 games for the Devils. The Criminology major tallied 28 hits and batted .277 with a .686 OPS including five doubles and 27 runs driven in. In the field she posted a .929 fielding percentage at third base. Wodecki was named All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention.
 
This is the second straight year FDU softball has garnered five CSC Academic All-District selections.
