Softball Falls to Lebanon Valley in Game 1 of MAC Freedom Championship Tournament

DALLAS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham softball team fell to Lebanon Valley 4-2 Friday afternoon in Game 1 of the 2026 MAC Freedom Softball Championship tournament. 
 
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It was a pitcher's duel through the first three innings, but the Dutchmen broke through in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead after a Devils' miscue.
  • Then in the fifth, LVC extended its lead to 2-0 on a sacrifice squeeze bunt as Holly Grube came around to score. 
  • The Dutchmen tacked on two more in the sixth on a home run from Nicole Kratz followed by an RBI-single from Grube to make it 4-0. 
  • In the bottom of the seventh, Capparelli launched a ball over the left field wall for a two-run homer to cut the FDU deficit to 4-2. 
  • Capparelli's home run was all the Devils' offense could muster as LVC downed FDU 4-2. 
UP NEXT
The Devils are set to play in Game 4 and take on No. 4- seeded Stevens. First pitch is set for Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
