Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The FDU-Florham softball team won its first two games Saturday afternoon as the Devils topped the University of Scranton 8-3 followed by an 8-2 win over Rochester Christian University.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (vs Scranton)
- Abigai Rodriguez led the way for the Devils against the Royals going 4-for-4 with two runs scored.
- Riley Signor and Giulia Olear had two hits each
- Hailey Wodecky knocked in two runs and went 1-for-2.
- Giana Abinanti earned the win and gave up three runs, with just one earned, on four hits with seven strikeouts.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (vs Rochester Christian)
HOW IT HAPPENED (vs Scranton)
- In the first, Lambright drove in Olear with an RBI groundout, but in the bottom half, Scranton scored two runs on an FDU error, and the Royals took a 2-1 lead.
- In the top of the third, the Devils took a 4-2 lead after RBI singles from Signor and Wodecki.
- In the fifth Scranton tallied its third run with an RBI single to make it a 5-3 game in favor of the Devils.
- FDU added to its lead in the sixth with three runs to take an 8-3 lead and win its first game of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED (vs Rochester Christian)
- In Game 2 of the day, the Devils opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as Reece scored on an RCU error.
- In the top of the second RCU put up two runs to take a 2-1 lead, but in the bottom of the third the Devils scored four runs capped off by a Rodriguez double and took a 5-2 lead.
- In the fourth, Lambright singled home Reece on a line drive to center to take a 6-2 lead.
- Two innings later, the Devils iced the game with two more runs and won their second game of the day 8-3.

The Devils continue their Spring Break trip on Sunday, March 15 at 9 a.m. as FDU takes on Stevenson University.
