Newtown, Pa. (February 7)- The FDU-Florham football team saw three of their student-athletes add on to their academic accolades as they were named to the Academic All-MAC team today that was announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. Those individuals were
Sean Theis (Delran, N.J.), Christian Puntolillo (Wayne, N.J.) and
Ginika Ozurumba (Union, N.J.).

Theis started all 10 games for the Devils on the offensive line and earned the team's lone 4.0 GPA this past semester. He contributed to an offensive that scored 19.8 points a game, 291.2 total yards per game, 126.6 rushing yards per game and 164.6 passing yards per game. He also earned Second Team All-MAC this season and was named a CSC Academic All-District selection.

Puntolillo started all 10 games this season at safety and collected a 3.46 this past fall. He amassed 80 total tackles on the season which ranked first on the team and tied for fifth best in the conference. Of the 80 tackles, 39 were solo which was also the best mark of the season for the Devils and ranked tied for seventh best in the MAC and his eight pass breakups led the Devils and ranked tied for fourth in the league. Christian adds this accolade to the Second Team All-MAC honor he earned in November and the CSC Academic All-District Accolade he earned in January.

Ozurumba finished his season with 61 tackles (21 solo), nine tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles while maintaining a 3.39 semester GPA. His two forced fumbles ranked first on the team, his tackles for loss ranked second on the team and his total tackles ranked third on the team. He earns this award after becoming a second team All-MAC selection in the fall.
