Madison, NJ (July 22) – The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced that Fairleigh Dickinson University seniors
Dylan Gonzalez (Little Ferry, NJ) and
Jacob O'Brien (Merchantville, NJ) have been chosen as members of the 2021 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. Since 2009, FDU has seen 22 student-athletes selected for this honor.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed their final year of eligibility in the Fall of 2020 or Spring of 2021 or have graduated with remaining eligibility, but do not plan on returning to collegiate play.
The student-athletes must also have attached a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), have met all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements and been starters or significant contributors during their seasons. In 2021, an elite group of 914 student-athletes from 259 institutions qualified for membership in the Society's 15th year.
As offensive linemen for the Devils, Gonzalez appeared in 19 games during his time in Madison, while O'Brien played in 21 total games including all ten during the 2019 campaign.
