FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (March 12, 2019) - The FDU-Florham softball team swept Fayetteville Technical Community College 13-7 and 16-7 in developmental team action on Tuesday afternoon.
The Devils developmental team improves to 4-0 on the season after taking two from Methodist earlier in the week.
GAME 1: FDU-Florham 13, Fayetteville Tech. 7
Junior
Megan Zaccario went the distance for FDU, picking up 12 strikeouts while scattering 10 hits. Freshmen
Dana Giardina and
Natalie McIntosh each had four hits, with classmate
Morgan DeLoreto leading the charge with four RBI's and a three-run home run. Sophomore
Caitie Horn and DeLoreto also contributed three hits in the victory.
GAME 2: FDU-Florham 16, Fayetteville Tech. 7 (Six Innings)
Sophomore
Abbey Scarengelli was the winning pitcher in game two, working all six frames. She also contributed offensively, picking up two hits and an RBI. McIntosh and junior
Annamarie Santangelo each collected four hits, with the rookie McIntosh driving in a pair of runs. Scarengelli was also aided by three hits and three RBI's by sophomore
Alex Steele. Giardina also tacked on two hits and RBI in the game two win.
