FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (March 10, 2019) - The FDU-Florham softball team picked up two wins in their season-opening series against Methodist Sunday afternoon.
The Devils played the game as a developmental game, with the stats and records not counting towards the season totals.
GAME 1: FDU-Florham 8, Methodist 0 (Five Innings)
Junior
Megan Zaccario spun a one-hitter, striking out four over the five innings. Freshman
Cierra Colon and junior
Annamarie Santangelo each recorded two hits, while sophomore
Alex Steele registered two RBI's.
GAME 2: FDU-Florham 8, Methodist 3
Freshman
Ciara Hoffman scattered six hits with four strikeouts while going the distance as the Devils were able to complete the sweep. Sophomore
Taylor Tobey led the way with three hits, two RBI's and two stolen bases. Colon and classmate
Morgan DeLoreto each chipped in two hits, with DeLoreto adding two RBI's with Colon knocking in one.
