Monster First Inning Propels Devils to Victory

Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils dropped 11 first-inning runs on the Centenary College Cyclones, en route to a 14-5 victory on Wednesday afternoon at McManus field.

FDU-Florham jumped all over Cyclones starter Meagan Madsen in the first inning. Sarah Lima (Stanfordville, N.Y./Pine Plains) plated Devils leadoff hitter Brittni Wurst (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) with an RBI-single to open the scoring. After McCann drew a walk, sophomore Nikki Caruso (Madison, N.J./Madison) crushed her second home run of the season to dead center field, which gave the Devils a 4-0 lead.
