#4 Devils Run Out Of Gas; Fall To #1 DeSales, 8-0 (5)

Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, PA - The magical Freedom Conference Tournament ride for the fourth-seeded College at Florham Devils came to an end in the Championship Round on Saturday afternoon, as FDU lost to top-seeded DeSales by a score of 8-0 in five innings.  In two elimination games earlier in the day, the Devils knocked off both second-seeded King's and third-seeded Manhattanville for a chance to play for the title.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 22-20 and will await a bid to the ECAC Tournament while the Bulldogs improved to 28-10-1 and will go on to play in the NCAA Tournament.

Playing their third game in a little under six hours finally caught up to the Devils as DeSales scored all eight of their runs in the bottom of the first innings.  The FDU bats cooled off also as the Devils only mustered two hits in the game.

Junior catcher Sarah Lima and junior second baseman Kristie Crilley picked up the two hits for the Devils.  Senior pitcher Karla Babb started the game and took the loss, throwing 0.1 innings and allowing five runs on two hits.  Freshman pitcher Sydney Worek threw 3.2 innings of relief, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out three.
