Box Score 2 CLERMONT, FL - After being rained out on Sunday, the College at Florham Devils swept the first two games of their Florida Spring Break Trip on Monday afternoon. The Devils knocked off Monmouth, 7-6 (9 innings), and the first game before beating Thiel, 6-5, in the nightcap.
With the pair of wins, the Devils improved to 2-0.
GAME ONE - Monmouth got on the board first with two runs in the top of the first inning before making it 3-0 in the top of the third. The Devils came back with three runs in the bottom of the third on two wild pitches and a sacrifice fly from sophomore catcher
Sarah Lima. FDU scored one run apiece in the bottom of the fifth and the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-3 thanks to a RBI double by senior third baseman
Megan Golembiewski and a Monmouth error. Monmouth sent the game to extra innings with two runs in the top of the seventh before taking a 6-5 lead in the top of the ninth. In the bottom of the ninth, junior first baseman
Elizabeth Spiller tied the game at 6-6 with a sacrifice fly and junior shortstop
Christine Antoniotti won the game with a RBI single up the middle.

Brittni Wurst finished the game 4-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored while senior outfielder
Ronica Sorice went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs scored. McInaw tossed all nine innings on the mound, allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits while striking out eight.
GAME TWO - Down 1-0 heading into the top of the third inning, Golembiewski smacked a grand slam to give FDU a 4-1 lead. Thiel closed to 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth before tying the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth. The Devils got two runs in the top of the sixth on a wild pitch and a steal of home by Spiller before Thiel closed to 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh. Golembiewski got out of it on the mound though, allowing the Devils to pick up their second win of the day.
Golembiewski finished 3-for-4 with a double, a grand slam and four RBI at the plate while throwing the seventh inning and picking up the save on the mound. McInaw went 2-for-4 with a double and Sorice went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases. Junior pitcher
Karla Babb started the game and picked up the win, going 4.2 innings and allowing four runs on seven hits. Junior pitcher
Brianne Conanan came on in relief, tossing 1.1 innings and allowing only one hit.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, against Heidelberg at 11 am and Mount Ida at 1 pm.
