WILKES-BARRE, PA - The College at Florham Devils dropped both games of a doubleheader to Kings, 2-0 and 7-1, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the losses, the Devils dropped to 13-21 (3-9 Freedom) while the Monarchs improved to 17-13 (8-4 Freedom).
GAME ONE- In a pitcher's duel from the start, FDU could only scratch out two hits while King's scored both of their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Sophomore pitcher
Megan McInaw (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) was the hard-luck loser, tossing six innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on nine hits while striking out four.
GAME TWO - The Devils jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a RBI single by McInaw. King's came back with two runs in the third inning and five runs in the fourth inning to complete the sweep. FDU only mustered three hits in the nightcap.
Sophomore pitcher
Megan Golembiewski (Beacon, NY/Beacon) took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits in four innings.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, May 1, 2010, with their season final at home against DeSales on Senior Day beginning at noon.
