WILKES-BARRE, PA - The College at Florham Devils men's and women's swim teams opened the 2010-11 season at Scranton on Saturday afternoon. The women lost, 83-56, while the men were defeated, 83-38.
With the losses, each team now stands at 0-1.
WOMEN - Junior
Divya Reddy (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) led the way as she placed first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:47.30. Junior
Wendy Ferriero (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) came in second in the 200 free (2:13.24) and second in the 200 IM (2:37.16), sophomore
Gloria Rivera (Staten Island, NY/Paramus Catholic) finished second in the 50 free (30.32) and second in the 100 back (1:17.93), sophomore
Genevieve Pilat (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) placed second in the 100 fly (1:29.96) and second in the 500 free (7:45.37), and freshman
Kayla Drobnis (Mt. Arlington, NJ/Roxbury) came in second in the 100 free (1:20.18).
MEN - Junior
Daniel Herskowitz (Pomona, NY/North Rockland) came in second in the 200 free (2:01.48) and second in the 100 free (53.36). Freshman
Corey Esposito (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) placed second in the 50 free (29.48) and second in the 500 free (7:12.05) while freshman
David Padilla (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) finished second in the 200 IM (2:35.16) and second in the 100 back (1:09.25).
The Devils return to action on Saturday, October 30, 2010, when the women travel to Sarah Lawrence beginning at 3 pm.
