Track and Field Places Second in Senior Day at the Second Battle of Madison Ave

MADISON, N.J. - The FDU indoor track and field team honored their seniors at home with the second Battle of Madison Ave Saturday morning.
 
Devils Highlights
  • Junior Nathaniel Evely kicked off the day as he placed third in the 100m prelims with a new season best time of 11.23. Junior Ty Wagner and first year Cam McCleod also had great times, with Wagner finishing eighth with a time of 11.40 and McCleod finishing 15th with a new personal best time of 11.68. In the 100m finals, Evely finished fourth with another new season best time of 11.21. In the 110m hurdles, both first year Christopher Conroy and senior Shane Breedlove recorded new personal best times. Conroy finished second with a final time of 17.92 and Breedlove finished in third with a final time of 19.30. Evely once again placed in the top three, this time placing second in the 200m event. He finished with a new personal best time of 22.74, which tied his own FDU record time for the event. Additionally, junior Nashawn Presley finished fifth in the event with a new personal best time of 22.99.
  • In the women's 200m, senior Bianca Burke finished third with a final time of 25.67. In the men's 400m event, all three Devils athletes recorded either new season best times or new personal best times. Sophomore Lucas Sorrentino finished fifth with a new season best time of 52.84, junior Nathaniel Perrelli finished sixth with a new season best time of 53.37 and junior Luke Passarelli finished ninth with a new personal best time of 53.89. On the women's side of the event, Burke finished second with a final time of 58.78 while junior Mai Purse finished with a new personal best time of 1:13.39.
  • On both sides of the 400m hurdles, all three athletes who competed also finished with new personal best or season best times. Breedlove finished fifth with a new season best time of 1:03.30, Conroy finished with a new personal best time of 1:12.65 and sophomore Alyssa Orio finished with a new season best time of 1:17.69. First years Madeline Drozdowski and Alejandra Duran both recorded new season best times in the 800m event. Drozdowski finished second with a final time of 2:38.62, while Duran finished with a final time of 2:54.62. In the 4x100m relay events, the team consisting of Presley, Evely, first year Anthony Collier and sophomore Alex Coles finished first with a new season best time of 43.32. Rounding out the track events, senior Emmanuel Torode recorded a new season best time as he finished fourth in the 5000m event with a final time of 17:05.01.
  • Junior Irem Ucar and first year Briana Sierra kicked off the field events with two new personal best distances in the discus throw. Ucar finished second with a final distance of 32.83 and Sierra finished sixth with a final distance of 28.61. In the men's high jump, the Devils dominated the scene with all four athletes finishing in the top five. Collier finished first with a final height of 1.97 meters, Coles finished third with a final height of 1.82 meters, junior Chris Smith finished fourth with a final height of 1.77 meters and junior Kai James rounded out the event as he placed fifth with a final height of 1.72 meters.
  • For the women, sophomore Meghan Kreinberg placed first with a final height of 1.57 meters. She also recorded another first place finish in the javelin throw, finishing with a final distance of 31.87 meters. First year Melinda Valasek was right behind her, finishing fourth with a new personal best distance of 29.05 meters. In the men's shot put, senior Tytus Toliver finished fourth for the Devils with a final distance of 12.78 meters. On the women's side, Kreinberg continued to shine as she finished second with a new 2026 NCAA ranked distance of 12.50 meters. Finally, first year Shane Bell placed third in the triple jump with a final distance of 12.71 meters.
How it Happened
  • Overall, 10 athletes recorded new personal bests and eight athletes recorded new season best.
  • The Devils placed second in the meet with a final score of 130.

The Devils will travel out to the University of Pennsylvania for the two day Penn Relays meet on Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26.
