Making our top 10 list at #6: #6 Men's Lacrosse Engineers Unforgettable Program Turnaround

Madison, NJ (June 30) – The FDU-Florham Devils Men's Lacrosse team entered the 2025 season with high anticipation following the hiring of new head coach Alex Stone. The result: a winning season, a revitalized program, and a string of school and individual records that marked a new era for Devils Men's Lacrosse.

Coach Alex Stone's first season began amid the harsh winter, but his team was undeterred. On February 15, FDU opened with an 18-7 road win over Rosemont, finishing the month of February undefeated while setting the tone for the season.

In a dominant non-conference performance, the Devils nearly matched the school record for most goals in a game, cruising to a 25-4 win over Centenary. Senior Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) starred in the effort, notching his 100th career point and breaking the single-game record with 10 goals.

After suffering their first loss to Immaculata, the Devils bounced back with a perfect spring break road trip, defeating Juniata and Marywood. They concluded the majority of non-conference play with an impressive 6-2 record.

The month of March brought more highlights. In a 25-3 win over Cairn, Bud Snyder (Arlington Heights, Ill.) etched his name into the record books with 12 points—breaking a 59-year-old school record for most assists in a single game.

While the start of MAC Freedom play proved challenging, the Devils found their rhythm. They earned their first conference win on April 16 with a 9-8 victory over King's, celebrated Senior Day with a win against Delaware Valley, and kept postseason hopes alive by eliminating Lebanon Valley from playoff contention with a dramatic last-minute goal by Matthew Stella (Hackettstown, NJ).

Although a final-week loss ended the Devils' MAC Freedom playoff bid, FDU closed out the regular season with a 10-win campaign—the program's best since 2017. Earning the No. 3 seed in the ECAC Championship Tournament, the Devils traveled to face second-seeded Goucher in the semifinals, falling 19-8 to close the season.

With a rejuvenated foundation, record-setting performances, and a return to relevance, the 2025 Devils have laid the groundwork for a bright future under Coach Stone's leadership.
