MADISON, N.J. – Joseph Carbo led the FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team to a thrilling 10-9 win over King's College Saturday afternoon at home as the sophomore scored seven goals on the day.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Devils got on the board first on a goal from Scheublin just 35 seconds into the contest to take a 1-0 lead.
- Carbo added to the lead just before the 9:00 mark on an assist from Perillo to make it a 2-0 FDU lead.
- King's Brenden Lynch scored the Monarchs' first goal on an assist from Connor Walsh, but the Devils answered with a goal from Anthony DiGiacomo to take a 3-1 lead into the second period.
- In the second, Scheublin found the back of the King's net to take a 4-1 lead with 12:26 remaining before the break.
- The Monarchs scored three straight goals before the half and knotted the contest at 4-4.
- The second half saw 11 combined goals scored as the two teams went back-and-forth beginning with a goal from Brenden Lynch to make it a 5-4 King's lead.
- Carbo tied the game once again with a goal at the 10:58 mark to make it 5-5.
- The Monarchs scored once more in the third but again Carbo answered to keep the game tied heading into the fourth period.
- In the fourth, each time the Monarchs scored, Carbo answered as he scored all four of FDU's fourth period goals.
- The FDU defense held strong at the end to keep the lead and FDU came away with the 10-9 win for its first MAC Freedom win of the year.
GAME NOTES
- Carbo is the third Devils player with six or more goals joining Dugan (6) and Scheublin (11).
- This is the seventh time this season Pieroni tallied 10 or more saves in a game.
