York, PA (February 15) – The FDU-Florham Women's Swimming Team kept the podium streak alive on Day 3 of the MAC Championships, as a quartet in the 800 free relay placed 7
th and an 8
th place finish was seen in the 100 back.
The first to dip her toes in the water for an individual event was
Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) was the only Devil to compete in the 200 fly. She clocked a time of 2:21.51 in the prelims to make it to the B finals and then took 3.41 seconds off her finals time for 9
th overall (2:18.10).
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, N.J.), Olivia Case (Cream Ridge, NJ), and
Jessica Mooney (Cranford, N.J.) were seen in the 100 back prelims and once again in the A and C finals. Plank produced the best time which resulted in a podium finish of 8
th with a time of 1:01.96. Case followed with a time of 1:04.39 and placement of 18
th, while Mooney rounded out the event with a time of 1:07.26 placing her in 24
th overall.
One last set of teammates shared the 100 breast event in the prelims and finals. Classmates
Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ) and
Lauren Stone (Middletown, NJ) took to the finals for placement of 11
th (1:10.78) and 20
th overall (1:15.27).
Relay events that occurred included the 800 free relay, where FDU-Florham had two groups participate. The first group of Konopka, Plank,
Caitlyn Kramaritsch (Roxbury, NJ), and
Olivia Glenfield (Howell, MI) took the second and final podium placement of the night for the Devils as they stood in 7
th with a time of 8:20.14. The Devil's final quartet of Case,
Ashley Smith (Tinton Falls, NJ),
Shalma Lopez (Union City, NJ), and Mooney resulted in a 16th-place finish for a time of 9:03.72.
The final day of the MAC Championships will include the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 1650 free, and 400 free relay The individual events will have their preliminary rounds starting at 9:30am and the top 24 times from the morning session will advance to the final's session at 5:00pm. The relay teams will compete in the evening session.
