New York, NY (January 17)- For it's second meet of the 2024-25 indoor season, the FDU-Florham Men's Track & Field team returned to the famous indoor Armory Track for the Ramapo Indoor Season Opener and saw each a MAC Qualification time and school record.
In hope of improvement first the first meet to the second was not met, but was not disappointing
Nashawn Presley (Irvington, NJ) started the meet for the Devils by taking 32nd overall with a time of 7.27, matching his time and MAC Qualification from the first meet.
Nathaniel Evely (Bogota, NJ) found himself in 44th place with a time of 7.35, which was a thousandth of a second off from qualifying for the MAC Championship meet. Sophomore,
Ty Wagner (Wappingers Fall, N.Y.), also competed in the 60m as unseeded and crossed the line with a time of 8.07 for 28th in the heat.
It was Presley and Evely who took to track again in the 200m, but showed a result of Evely in 47
th overall with a time of 23.72 and Presley behind in 5
th with a time of 24.09. Evely's performance was good enough for a personal record as well as a MAC qualification time.
Diego Molina (Sayreville, NJ) lead the 400m for the Devils as he claimed 37th with a time of 55.21. Seen next across the line was
Nathaniel Perrelli (Fanwood, NJ) who came in 44th with a time of 56.23.
Francisco Tanez (West Orange, N.J.) recorded a time of 58.37 for 48th overall with
Shane Breedlove (Richmond, Va.) just about a second off for 52nd overall (59.72).
Competing in the 800m was
Luke Passarelli (Brick, NJ) who finished the event with a time of 2:20.70 for 45th overall.
Evan McGinnity was another lone Devil to compete in an event as he took 28th overall in the 3000m with a time of 9:59.62, which captured the school record.
The closing event on the circuit was the 4x400m in which the Devils team placed 15th and recorded a time of 3:45.83.
Even though
Joseph Teresi (Ocean Twp, NJ) secured his qualification in the MAC Championships during his first visit to the Armoy this season, the senior exceeded the mark by throwing 13.50m for 10th place.
FDU-Florham looks towards a short break before stretching back out for the Dr. Sander Scorcher Meet at the Armory on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
