Kristin Giotta and the rest of the hiring committee,
Alex Stone will take over the reins of the FDU Devils Men's Lacrosse team as new Head Coach. He becomes the team's seventh head coach in program history.

"With his experience in DIII Athletics, we are confident that Alex will revitalize the program placing an emphasis on team development, culture, and recruitment while also strengthening ties with our alumni base. Stone comes to Madison N.J. after serving the past seven seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Muhlenberg University. His roles as Associate Head Coach also included Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator. As the Mules' Recruiting Coordinator, he oversaw and organized the recruiting schedule for the coaching staff and organized the recruiting schedule. During his time at Muhlenberg, he was successful in landing recruits from 12 different states in both public and private institutions. As the Defensive Coordinator, he played a crucial role in player development and the implementation of a defensive scheme that saw the Mules men's lacrosse team have a top 3 defense in the Centennial Conference over the past three seasons, including having the top defense in 2022. Stone helped mentor 18 All-Centennial Conference players, nine United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar Athlete All-Americans, eight USILA All-Americans, three Centennial Conference Rookies of the Year and one Centennial Conference Student Athlete of the Year. As a team, he helped coach the Mules to program high 11-win seasons in 2018 and 2023, that included Muhlenberg being ranked as high as the #16 team in the country in 2023, which is the highest national ranking they've received in program history. Alex also played pivotal roles in the organization and production of the team's prospect camp and fundraising. He also served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach as Muhlenberg.
Before his time at Muhlenberg, he had his first collegiate coaching stint when he spent three seasons as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Bard College while also serving as the Assistant Athletic Director from 2014-2017. At Bard, he coached three All-Liberty League players and a Liberty League Rookie of the Year. In 2015, he coached the team to the #1 ranked upset of the year when he helped the team knock off Skidmore, 9-8.
Alex was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Union College from 2009-2013. During his playing career, he was a two-time All-Liberty league player. On the All-time program lists, he ranks fourth in faceoff winning percentage (minimum of 100 attempts) and fifth in faceoff winning percentage (minimum of 200 attempts). He also ranks fifth all time in career ground balls and single season ground balls. Stone served as a team captain for the team his senior season and earned his B.S. in Biology and received his M.A. in Sports Management: Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania in December 2020.

He will assume the role of Head Men's Lacrosse Coach for the FDU Devils effective immediately.
