East Stroudsburg, Pa. (February 5) – First-
year Ibrahim Fall (Boonton, NJ) and classmate
D'Maari Brown (Manchester Township, NJ) guided the men's track and field team this afternoon at the DeSchriver Invitational held at East Stroudburg University. Both student-athletes registered Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship qualifying marks in the long jump and the triple jump.
Brown registered a first place finish and the top mark in the MAC in the triple jump this afternoon with a best leap of 13.67m (44 feet, 10.25 inches) as well as a fourth place finish and the fourth best mark in the league in the long jump with a leap of 6.59m (21 feet, 7.5 inches). Brown's triple jump distance is not only tops in the MAC, but ranks tied for 50th in Division III men's track and field this season.
Fall finished third in both the long jump with the third longest jump in the MAC this season at 6.60m (21 feet, 8 inches) as well as the fifth longest leap in the triple jump in the conference at 13.19m (43 feet, 3.25 inches). Fall also individually ran a time of 7.02 seconds in the 55m dash for 18th place.
Fall and Brown teamed up with
Francisco Tanez (West Orange, NJ) and
Isaiah Ramirez (Edison, NJ) for a seventh place finish in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:39.39, which ranks seventh fastest in the MAC this season.
Ramirez individually finished 18th in the 200m in 24.67 seconds. The Devils also had three entries in the 400m which were highlighted by a ninth place finish by Ramirez in 54.65 seconds. He was followed by
Otis Harold (Vineland, NJ) in 11th (55.31 seconds) and Tanez in 14th (56.05 seconds).
First-year
Emmanuel Torode (Roxbury, NJ) finished fifth in the 600m run with a time of 1:31.98 as well as seventh in the triple jump with a best leap of 11.38m (37 feet, 4 inches). Tanez rounded out the highlights with a 21st place finish in the long jump with a best leap of 5.01m (16 feet, 5.25 inches).
FDU-Florham will compete next Saturday, February 11 at the Big Apple Invitational which will be held at Ocean Breeze Track and Field Center in Staten Island.
