Annapolis, Md. (February 25) – FDU-Florham sophomore
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) broke the school record in the 100-fly and the 200-medley relay squad broke the program record on the second day of the 2023 ECAC Championship held at the United States Naval Academy.
As a team, the women's program sits in 14th place with 38 points through the second day of the championship meet.
The 200-medley relay squad of
Emma Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ),
Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ), Fazzio and
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, NJ) began this morning's session by breaking the program record with a time of 1:53.85.
At the conclusion of prelims this morning, Fazzio swam a time trial in the 100-fly and broke the oldest record in program history with a time of 1:00.99. Fazzio's record broke the old mark of 1:01.08 that was held by Sarah Bennett from the 2016-17 season.
In the 100-breast, men's senior
James Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) finished 43rd with a time of 1:01.75.
The Dougherty sisters rounded out today's highlights in the 100-back.
Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) finished 33rd in 1:01.25, while
Emma Dougherty finished 39th in 1:01.96.
The Devils will wrap up the 2022-23 season at the ECAC Championship tomorrow with entries in the 100-free, 200-breast and 400-free relay.
