Wayne, N.J (December 9) – The FDU-Florham women's swimming team (5-0) went on the road and bested William Paterson (5-4-1), 135-54 on Saturday afternoon.
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, N.J.) took first in both the 50 free (56.25) and the 100 free (56.25) while
Magda Konopka (Paramus, N.J.) also found two first-place finishes when she clocked a 1:14.36 in the 100 breast and a 2:02.38 in the 200 free.
Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon, N.J.) found herself a pair of first place finishes as she touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:15.13) and the 100 back (1:01.83) and was also joined by
Jessica Mooney (Cranford, N.J.) who also placed first in two events, beating the field in the 500 free (5:55.20) and a personal-best in the 1000 free (12:13.56).
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, N.J.) took first place in the 100 fly when she clocked a time of 1:02.91 as well as a second-place finish in the 200 free behind Konopka when she clocked a 2:08.57.
Lauren Stone (Middletown, N.J.) found a second-place finish behind Plank in the 100 free when she clocked a 58.08.
Abigail Franco (New Providence, N.J.) did the same thing when she finished behind Mooney in the 1000 free with a 14:42.39.
The Devils fielded two relay teams that both finished first during the meet. The 200 medley relay team of Dougherty,
Isabel Thierman (Belmar, N.J.), Fazzio and
Ashley Smith (Tinton Falls, N.J.) put together a team time of 2:01.47 for a win and the 200 free relay team of
Mooney, Stone, Plank and Konopka placed first with a combined time of 1:45.04.
FDU-Florham has a lengthy break between action and will return to the pool when they host fellow MAC school Arcadia for a dual meet on Friday, January 12 with the first event scheduled for 1:00 pm.
