Madison, N.J (December 1&2) – The 200 medley relay team of
Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon N.J.), Magda Konopka (Paramus, N.J.), Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater N.J.), and
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, N.J.) broke the school record time of 1:53.57 when they clocked a 1:53.29 to highlight the weekend for the FDU-Florham women's swimming team at the Drew Invite on Friday and Saturday. The team overall finished fourth out of five teams there and accumulated 105 points.
The record that was broken was set last season by
Emma Dougherty, Konopka, Fazzio and Plank.
Sarah Dougherty also collected a pair of second place finishes individually. She swam a 2:14.15 in the 200 IM and a 4:49.10 in the 400 IM.
Konopka posted a personal-best time and was .01 off from the 50 free record when she swam a 24:83 that was good for a second-place finish. She also touched the wall third in the 200 free (2:00.85) and fifth in the 100 free (54:92).
Plank finished right behind Konopka in the 50 free with a third-place finish time of 24:96. She also individually clocked a 54.62 in the 100 free that finished fourth and a 1:02.78 that finished fifth.
Jessica Mooney (Cranford, N.J.) recorded a pair of seventh place finishes when she clocked a 5:48.86 in the 500 free and a 2:24.09 in the 200 back.
Julianna Fazzio also placed seventh in the invite in the 100 fly with a time of 1:03.10.
The Devils also saw three more relay finishes in the invite. The 200 free relay team of Plank, Konopka, Dougherty and
Lauren Stone (Middletown, N.J.) touched the wall second as a team when they clocked a time of 1:40.40. The same quartet finished third in the 400 free relay with a team time of 3:46.18 and fourth in the 800 free relay with a team time of 8:24.18.
FDU-Florham will compete next weekend as they square off with William Paterson in Wayne, N.J. on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 pm.
