Madison, NJ (January 21) – The FDU-Florham women's swimming team capped off the regular-season schedule, downing Western Connecticut 141-40, but fell against Felician, 130-77.
During the meets, the Devils honored its seven seniors:
Liz Briles (Glassboro, NJ),
Shannon DiCristina (Wayne, NJ),
Emma Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ),
Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ),
Sarah Jurimas (Delran, NJ), Emily Maciejewski (Wall, NJ) and
Paige Strangeway (Green Twp., NJ) their contributions to the FDU-Florham swim team in and out of the pool.
Sarah Dougherty individually earned a first-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 1:02.86 along with touching the wall second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.40. She also contributed to a first-place finish for the 200 free relay team along with
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, NJ), Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) and
Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ) with a time of 1:43.43
Jurimas earned a MAC Qualifying time in the 1000 free, touching the wall fourth with a time of 12:22.64. Fazzio notched a pair of second place finishes in the 100 fly (1:03.85) and 200 free (2:07.43) while Plank finished second in the 50 free (25.69) and third in the 100 free (55.99)
Emma Dougherty, Strangeway, Briles and Maciekewski teamed up for a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay for a time of 2:05.48. Dougherty individually placed third in both the 200 free (2:11.30) and the 500 free (5:45.80) while Strangeway placed third in the 100 breast (1:18.84). Briles also earned a season-best times in the 50 free (25.54) while placing fourth and 100 free (1:01.27) while placing fifth.
Fairleigh Dickinson will head to York, PA for the MAC Championships starting February 9.
