Montclair, NJ (January 17) – The FDU-Florham women's swimming team was edged during a non-conference dual meet at Montclair State, 91-80 on Tuesday night.
Senior
Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) notched a first-place finish in the 100 IM with a time of 1:03.53 as well as touching the wall second in the 50 back with a time of 29.73. Dougherty also contributed to a first-place finish for FDU in the 200 free relay along with teammates
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, NJ),
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ), and
Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ).
The Devils also saw a pair of first-place finishes from seniors
Paige Strangeway (Green Twp., NJ) in the 50 breast (37.28) and
Sarah Jurimas (Delran, NJ) in the 500 free (6:07.52).
Fazzio individually contributed to the FDU-Florham total with a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 free (2:06.30) and the 50 fly (28.61) while Plank individually swam in the 50 free with a time of 25.45 that placed second and in the 50 fly with a time of 28.68 that placed fourth.
Emma Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) touched the wall fourth in both 100 free (1:00.19) and the 50 back (31.50) while Konopka individually swam in the 100 IM and finished fourth with a time of 1:08.13
Fairleigh Dickinson will stay on the road as they travel to Glenside, PA for a dual meet with Arcadia on Friday, January 20
