Women's Swimming Tops King's and Lebanon Valley on Friday

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (November 4) – The FDU-Florham women's swimming team won all 11 contested events and senior Sarah Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) swam the fastest time in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) in the 200-IM as the Devils defeated both King's College (Pa.) and Lebanon Valley College tonight.

FDU-Florham registered dominant team wins over both King's College (157-28) and Lebanon Valley (155-44) to improve to 3-1 in dual meets this season. In addition, the Devils registered 12 qualifying times for the 2023 MAC Championship.
 
Dougherty won all three events she was entered into tonight which included her posting the fastest time in the MAC in the 200-IM in 2:16.37. Dougherty was also victorious in the 100-back in a MAC qualifying time of 1:04.02 as well as alongside the 200-free relay team that featured first-years Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, NJ), Lauren Stone (Middletown, NJ) and Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ) in 1:45.17.
 
Plank also individually registered wins in two individual events with MAC qualifying times in both the 50-free (25.91) and the 100-free (56.79), while Stone was third in those same two events with MAC qualifying times of 27.06 and 59.90, respectively.
 
Sophomore Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) won a pair of individual events with MAC qualifying times in both the 200-free (2:08.54) and the 100-fly (1:04.49) after she teamed up with seniors Emma Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ), Paige Strangeway (Green Township, NJ) and Emily Maciejewski (Wall, NJ) for a win in the 200-medley relay (2:04.47).
 
E. Dougherty also registered a victory in the 500-free in a MAC qualifying time of 5:50.94 and a second place finish in the 200-fre in a MAC qualifying time of 2:09.90.

Two other Devils posted MAC Championship qualifying times tonight as sophomore Alyssa Dowd (Budd Lake, NJ) came in third place in the 100-fly in 1:09.53 and Konopka came in second place in the 200-IM in 2:22.57. Dowd also registered a first place finish in the 1000-free (12:42.01) and a second place finish in the 500-free (6:09.90), while Konopka individually won the 100-breast (1:16.41).

FDU-Florham will return to the poll in two weeks when the Devils travel to Maryland for a tri-meet at Stevenson University with the host Mustangs and Gallaudet University beginning at 2:30 pm on November 19.
