Madison, NJ- When supplies began to run out at Morristown Medical Center and other local medical facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sports Medicine Department at FDU Florham came through to help.
Â
After hearing about the lack of supplies for medical personal helping patients battle the Coronavirus, Devils Head Athletic Trainer
Matthew Togno and his staff, took it into their hands to help in anyway possible. With NCAA athletics shut down for the remainder of the spring semester, Togno felt the unused supplies on FDU's campus could be a bigger help in other places.
Â

"Being fellow Healthcare Professionals, we understand the severity of the current situation and how important any help can be," explained Togno. "We hope that this donation can aid the healthcare teams fighting and helping all of the individuals affected by this virus"
Â
The Athletic Training team spent time last week collecting supplies they felt were essential to health care workers, donating numerous masks, gloves and protective gowns to Morristown Medical center to help aid in the fight against Covid-19.
Â
"I am so proud of our Sports Medicine Department for assisting in a time of need," said Athletics Director
Jenn Noon. " Healthcare providers, especially Athletic Trainers, rarely ever get the recognition they deserve so it is nice to give credit where credit is due. They are always behind the scenes and I just hope during this pandemic people can see who the MVP's truly are!"
Â
The entire Devils Athletics staff encourages everyone to stay safe, stay healthy and if you have the means, extend a helping hand to your local medical center to help them fight this terrible virus.
