MADISON, N.J. (September 27, 2019) – The FDU football team opens home Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play on Saturday, as they welcome Stevenson University.

COACH TO CURE MD
The Devils will be participating in the Coach to Cure MD Weekend. FDU will honor seven-year-old Jaylen Jhaveri, who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at age 3. DMD is the most common fatal genetic condition that occurs in childhood, affecting 1 in 3,500 male births. The Jhaveri family will be participating in the coin toss before the game.
LAST TIME OUT
FDU aims to return to the win column and pick up their first MAC Freedom victory, as they fell in their previous game to Widener. An 89-yard drive highlighted the outing. The drive consisted of two connections from junior Anthony Caserta to senior Benjamin Calderon. Now, nearing Widener territory, sophomore Justin Malak broke through for 53-yard touchdown run.
LAST MEETING
Stevenson holds an 8-0 advantage in the all-time series matchup between the two programs.
RUN THIS HOUSE
Last time out, the Devils combined for 229 rushing yards. Junior Alnazir Blackman led the charge with 118 total rushing yards. Behind Blackman, Malak totaled 91 yards on the ground including one touchdown run.
STEVENSON REPORT
The Mustangs sit at 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in MAC Freedom games. Stevenson holds a 34-0 shutout victory over Curry, in which they had four touchdowns. In that game, Stevenson had three rushing touchdowns and one passing score.
RISING SOPHOMORE
Sophomore defensive back Jake Swindasz leads all Devils in tackles, with 24. Swindasz has one interception on the season and one fumble return. Swindasz also heads the Devils in solo tackles, with 15.
GENERATING POINTS
Caserta ranks second among all MAC Freedom quarterbacks in touchdowns, with nine. Caserta is nearing the 1000-yard marker, as he currently has 913 passing yards on the season.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Senior Nick Maciejewski is a perfect 11-11 on extra points this season and is 1-1 on field goals. Freshman Jevaughn Thomas II has made his mark on the Devils team this season, as he ranks first yards on kick returns, with 187. Freshman kicker Chris Dimedio has served as the Devils kickoff specialist, as he has totaled 757 yards on kicks.
