WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (January 20, 2018) - The FDU women's swim team was upended by Middle Atlantic Conference foes King's and Lycoming Saturday afternoon.
The team fell 181-59 to King's and 168-76 to Lycoming. The Devils will next compete February 15-18 when they travel to York, Pa. for the MAC Championship meet.
Freshman
Molly Miller was a triple-event winner Saturday, taking home first in the 1,000-freestyle (11:13.68), the 500-freestyle (5:29.57), and set a school-record in the 200-fly (2:22.18). The rookie was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Samantha Irace,
Sarah Bennett and
Mackenzie Doherty who touched the wall in 1:51.65.
Irace was fourth in both the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle, before placing sixth in the 200-IM. Doherty was third in 200-IM, touching in 2:28.14. The junior also took fourth in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke.
Bennett nabbed fourth in the 50-free before responding with a time of 59.22 in the 100-free, with just two seconds separating her and first place. The senior also took second in the 100-fly, finishing 1:06.88.
