STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (November 4, 2017) - Freshmen
Molly Miller broke the school record in the 1,000 freestyle as the FDU women's swim team topped CSI 104-66.
Miller's time of 11:12.18 bested teammate
Samantha Irace's previous best of 11:17.07, and also bested the College of Staten Island pool record. The freshman was also part of the winning 200 yard medley relay team and also won in the 100-free. She turned in a 100 free time of 56.96 while the medley team finished in 2:05.31.
Irace and
Mackenzie Doherty finished 1-2 in the 200-free, finishing within .39 seconds of another.
Sarah Bennett and Julieta Bingen each collected points in the 50-free, as Bennett was second in 27.04. Doherty claimed a first place time of 1:17.48 in the 100-breast as well.
The senior Irace notched another first, this time finishing the 200 IM in 2:32 while freshman
Grace Douglas was second. Bennett won an uncontested 100-fly in 1:06.96, as Douglas nabbed a 1:08.36 time in the 100-back. Irace closed out her three win day in the 500-free, grabbing a time of 5:55.72
