SCRANTON, Pa. (October 14, 2017) - The FDU women's swim team opened its season with a setbacks against Cabrini and Scranton.
The Devils fell 110-79 to Cabrini and 151-43 against Scranton.
FDU opened the day with a third place time of 2:01.57 in the 200-yard medley relay. The team consisted of freshman
Molly Miller and
Grace Douglas, along with junior
Mackenzie Doherty and senior
Sarah Bennett. Miller. who was making her collegiate debut, also notched a first place time of 11:20.97 in the 1,000-free as senior
Samantha Irace was second in the same event.
Doherty nabbed second in the 100 yard IM, turning in a mark of 1:08.36, missing first by under a second. Miller tallied her third first place victory of the day, claiming first in the 500-free, besting the field by over 12 seconds. Doherty closed out the day with a third place finish in the 100-breast.
The Devils are back in action next Saturday, taking on William Paterson at 1 p.m.
