RADNOR, Pa. -- The FDU-Florham women's swimming team dropped its first two meets of the season to Cabrini College and the University of Scranton in Radnor, Pa. on Saturday afternoon, but saw three members receive Middle Atlantic Conference cuts in the day.

The five-member Devils squad appeared in mid-season form despite falling to Cabrini, 53-133, and to Scranton, 28-157, as a result of facing two teams with much larger rosters.

Junior Samantha Irace raced to second place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:13.82. Irace returned in the 500-yard freestyle with a third place finish at 4:49.91 to earn a MAC qualifying tiime.

Also nabbing a second place finish was sophomore MacKenzie Doherty in the 100-yard breaststroke who clocked in at 1:16.90. That race tallied Doherty one of two MAC cuts, while the latter came in her fourth place 200-freestyle performance of 2:12.82.

Junior Sarah Bennett grabbed two third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.05 and in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.17, each garnering a MAC qualifier.

Up next, the Devils face William Paterson on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. in Wayne, N.J.
