MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – For the sixth year, the Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham Campus Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) traveled to Morris Plains Borough School to participate in Read-Across-America.
On March 4, SAAC members and third grade students of Morris Plains Borough School celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The student-athletes read various stories to the children and used this amazing opportunity to spread the importance of reading and gaining knowledge through the written word.
In the fall and spring semester, the student-athletes write to their pen-pals, who are members of the third grade classes at Morris Plains Borough School. After exchanging several letters to one another, Read Across America Day offered the FDU-Florham student-athletes the chance to meet their pen pals.
