Grantham, Pa. – The FDU-Florham women's swim team was swept in a quad match against Messiah College (26-171), Hood College (45-137) and Widener University (31-166) on Saturday afternoon in Grantham, Pa.
The Devils opened up the afternoon in the water with a sixth place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Freshman Maria Fafian anchored the race and held the best time for FDU-Florham at 30.41.
In the seventh event of the day, the 50-yard freestyle, sophomore Sarah Bennett placed seventh with a time of 27.53. Bennett went on to grab a seventh place finish in the 100-yard butterfly as well.
Freshman Mackenzie Doherty had an eighth place finish in the 100-yard individual medley with her time of 1:10.40, while sophomore Sarah LeChard finished 12th with a time of 1:15.74. Doherty and LeChard then finished back-to-back in the 100-yard breaststroke with a ninth and tenth place finish.
In the final event at the meet, Doherty posted the best time for FDU-Florham in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 28.20 finish.
The Devils will be back in action on Saturday, November 21, when they head to Elizabethtown, Pa. to take on Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m.
