SCRANTON, Pa. – The FDU-Florham women's swim team was defeated by the University of Scranton 104-15 and then 78-34 to Cabrini College on Saturday afternoon in Scranton, Pa.
Sophomore Sarah Bennett was electric in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, placing third in both races. In the 50-yard freestyle she posted a time of 27:31 and in the 100-yard free, she finished with a time of 59:39.
The Devils also got a pair of third place finishes from sophomores Sarah LeChard in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.36) and Samantha Irace in the 200-yard backstroke (2:33.07).
Irace was followed in the 200-yard backstroke by senior captain Alex Duarte and her time of 2:35.73.
Freshman swimmer for FDU-Florham, Mackenzie Doherty had a solid day in the pool and placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:52.80.
The Devils will return to Madison for a meet against William Paterson University on Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m.
