Devils Walk-Off On Wild Pitch

Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The FDU-Florham Devils baseball team were on the winning end of a wild game, defeating University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth 11-10 on Thursday afternoon.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, Nick DeAngelis (East Hanover, N.J./Morris Catholic) scampered home from third base on a wild pitch to score the game's winning-run for the Devils. Senior right-hander Jeff Jacobs (Old Bridge, N.J./St. John Vianney) pitched a scoreless 10th inning to earn the win for FDU-Florham.

The Devils totaled 15 hits in the win, led by junior Alex Geramita (Old Tappan, N.J./Don Bosco) and Kyle Herron (Edison, N.J./J.P. Stevens) who each had three knocks in the game.

Ben Lyman (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) hammered his first home run of the season and had two hits and two RBI in the win. Lyman's RBI-single in the third inning provided the Devils with a 4-1 lead and through four innings the Devils led 5-2.

Trailing 7-3 in the seventh inning, the Corsairs mounted a comeback and claimed the lead. FDU-Florham trailed 10-8 in the bottom of the ninth when Herron tripled and Geramita followed with an RBI-single, which evened the score at 10-10. Jacobs pitched a scoreless 10th inning, which set the stage for the decisive home half of the inning.

Next up for the Devils:
The Devils return home to take on Eastern University, this Saturday March 22nd with first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m.
