FAIRBANKS, Alaska – For the first time since the 2022 season, FDU baseball garners two D3baseball.com All-Region IV selections as sophomores Xavier Diaz and Matthew Bond were each Third Team honorees the outlet announced Tuesday morning. 
 
Diaz, a Wanaque, N.J. native had an outstanding season for the Devils. The outfielder started all 38 games for the Devils in left field. He led the MAC Freedom in hitting with a .439 average. His .689 slugging percentage was fifth and his on base percentage was third at .540 for a 1.229 OPS, good for fourth best. Diaz finished the year with 58 hits including six home runs, seven doubles, and four triples with 38 RBI and 39 runs scored. He had 17 multi-hit games and two separate 10-game hitting streaks. On the base paths, Diaz went a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases and in the outfield, he finished the year with a .962 fielding percentage with just three errors.
 
Bond had a breakout season for the Devils in 2026. The Ridgewood, N.J. native finished the year with 31 hits including five doubles, two triples, and two home runs. The Devils' second baseman slashed an impressive .341/.429/.474 for a .945 OPS. Bond tallied 22 RBI and scored 15 runs. His .341 average was third best on the team.

Diaz and Bond are the first pair of Devils teammates to be named to both the All-MAC Freedom team and D3baseball.com All-Region IV team since Christian Capuano and Tommy Moore were also All-MAC Freedom selections and All-Region IV Third Team in 2022.
