Box Score GLENSIDE, PA - In a game that started on April 10 but was postponed in the second quarter due to lightning, the College at Florham Devils returned to Arcadia on Monday afternoon and produced an 8-7 victory in Freedom Conference action.
With the win, the Devils improved to 3-9 (1-1 Freedom) while the Knights dropped to 4-7 (0-3 Freedom).
On April 10, the Devils jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one quarter of play thanks to two goals from sophomore attack
Frank Salustri and one goal apiece from sophomore attack
Frank Reda and freshman attack
Daniel Minnich. The game was then postponed early in the second quarter and when it resumed today, Arcadia scored five of the first six goals to grab a 6-5 advantage entering intermission.
Senior midfielder
Cory Weiss scored the lone goal of the third quarter to tie it at 6-6 entering the fourth and final quarter. The Knights took a 7-6 lead just 3:04 into the fourth but FDU tied it at 7-7 four minutes later when Reda converted a pass from Weiss. The game remained tied until there was only 2:33 left in regulation, that's when junior midfielder
Jake Higgins found the back of the net to give FDU the victory.
Weiss finished the game with a goal and four assists while Higgins added a goal and two assists. Reda and Salustri each tallied two goals while sophomore defender
Peter Biondi caused six turnovers and picked up five ground balls. Freshman goalkeeper
Tim Zangara earned the win, making six saves.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at home against Eastern beginning at 7 pm.
