Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The College at Florham Devils were knocked off by Christopher Newport, 21-5, in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 1-4 while the Captains improved to 4-2.

The Captains jumped out to a 5-0 lead with 8:32 left in the second quarter before freshman attack Daniel Minnich converted a feed from senior midfielder Cory Weiss to make it 5-1.  Christopher Newport came right back though, and scored the next four goals to grab a 9-1 advantage.  Junior midfielder Jake Higgins closed the gap to 9-2 when he found the back of the net off a pass from Weiss with 1:59 remaining in the first half.  The Captains really put the game out of reach from there however, as they scored the next 10 goals to take a 19-2 lead with 13:11 to go in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore attack Frank Reda scored two goals late in the game while Weiss added a goal to finish the scoring for FDU.

Senior midfielder Ryan Reuther went 15-of-30 on faceoffs and picked up 10 ground balls while sophomore goalkeeper Gerry Yotcoski suffered the loss, making three saves in 26:56 of action.

The Devils return to action on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Lebanon Valley beginning at 7 pm.
